Feel good about yourself while you get some free training. In this session you will get a sneek-peek at Drupal 7, learn how to conduct effective and efficient user testing and make a significant contribution to the Drupal User Experience design project which is at an urgent final stage.

This session is useful if you want to learn about the Listening Labs method of user testing, and apply it to your own web development. It is also useful if you would like to see Drupal 7, and learn a bit about how to contribute to Drupal.

You know that feeling when you watch someone use your fresh new website? Ever cringe and apologise for making some kind of user interface mistake? Avoid embarrassment by conducting user testing early and often.
The listening labs non-directed method of user testing strives to lessen the effects of influencing a user being observed; thereby increasing the usefulness of the data. A listening lab needn't be long nor complex to provide crucial information for your web development, and help teams prioritise changes based on user's motivations and needs.
In this session, we will use Drupal7 to complete short listening lab tests. Individuals in pairs will take turns being the listener and the user.
We will run through the basics of this method, as well as produce a video for later analysis by the User Experience team on Drupal 7 (D7UX). The session will also familiarise the participants with "What's new in Drupal 7", as well as how to contribute to the community. Participants will be encouraged to join up.
    Outcomes:
The videos will be a contribution to Drupal7 development by gathering data on user experience. We will process and upload videos; and share the videos and our notes on:
