David Nunan
Biography
I have a background in the hospitality and tourism industry both in front line positions, management and later as an academic and market researcher. I now specialize in 'Green' or 'Eco' Tourism and Gay and Lesbian tourism consultancy but would like to continue to publish on-line. Ever since I began to use the Web I've seen opportunities for publishing on-line but was twice let down by web developers so decided I would try and learn a robust technology myself to build my own websites. I tried ASP.NET and Visual Web Developer using SQL Server but found it too complicated, I'm hopeful that Drupal will be my answer.
What I hope to get from DrupalCampBelfast
I was at Drupal Camp Galway, had no idea what to expect, still hadn't been able to download and connect Drupal to a local server and hadn't brought my laptop so I did little more than observe and film proceedings. Since then I have downloaded a Wamp server and connected to Drupal and built a really crappy looking website based on a text book lesson. I am now on my second text book but haven't gotten very far. It would be great to follow in the footsteps of someone else as they build a site and then fit that in with what I'm learning from the text book and then maybe I'll finally build something I can be proud of.
