DrupalCampBelfast: 26th -27th September 2009

DrupalCampBelfast is a FREE conference organised by volunteer drupal enthusiasts to introduce the free Drupal content management system and improve the Drupal Development Community in Belfast and throughout Ireland.


The weekend will cater for all levels of Drupal experience - from curious to expert.

DrupalCampBelfast is an unconference-style Drupal training event, founded in the style of BarCamp. While there are some differences (DrupalCamp does more pre-planning on the sessions), they have the common goal of bringing people together in an environment that is accessible to everyone.

This generally means that you will have a lot of people in a small space who have all come there with something to share and a desire to learn. Since this is a free event taking place over a weekend, we also get to welcome folks who can’t usually afford the time or expense to go to commercial conferences.

As a free event organised exclusively by volunteers, we also expect active participation from everyone when it comes to running the conference. This is as simple as picking up after yourself or actively fixing something if you see it’s broken, but please feel welcome to take an active role in making this a great event. We set the stage, but all of you make it happen!

Sessions and Topics

Saturday is shaping up something like the schedule below .  Saturday sessions will give newbies and dabblers a good grounding in Drupal concepts.   The Sunday schedule will explore Drupal in more detail.

 

 

Drupal Install-fest

Do you need help installing Drupal on your laptop? Or want someone to review your setup? Come anytime after 9:30am on Saturday and we’ll help you get Drupal installed and ready in time to get the most out of DrupalCamp. Depending on demand, we’ll do this again on Sunday, too.

Are you an expert in setting up Drupal? Come help us early. We need volunteers that know at least one OS platform very well.

What to bring ~ if you want.

  • Your computer (and power adaptor)
  • An extension lead/gang plug (labeled with your name)
  • An oldschool notebook and pen
  • Enthusiasm and plenty of questions about drupal
  • A camera and/or video camera
